TEX Onsite sponsored V8 Supercar driver David Russell made his name through his championship winning racing efforts in production cars, progressing to become a multiple race winner in the Porsche Carrera Cup Championship. David was the 2009 Privateer's Cup Champion and finished 3rd outright on his V8 Supercar debut. He also competed strongly in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series last season, being a regular top three competitor and podium visitor. His year was highlighted with pole position and two unchallenged race wins at Bathurst. David will be back for a third season in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar series in 2011, which is the development series that race drivers compete in before making their way to the main V8 series. TEX Onsite Australia and New Zealand will be riding with David at every race this season with a major presence.

Seven years ago a group of people from a range of different companies pooled their resources and expertise to resurrect the National Line Mechanic Competition.

While the ESITO Line Mechanic Competition has become a flagship event, the Annual Connection is evolving into an event that brings together people with varying levels of responsibility from different trade disciplines and sectors in the electricity supply industry.

TEX Onsite was proud to present the prize for Runner Up in this year’s Line Mechanic Competition held at Mystery Creek in Hamilton. Ross and Karen Gamble were invited to a function put on by Northpower Management on Friday 31st October 2008, in Whangarei. The team consisting of Richard Ashby, Kane Chamberlain, Paul Brown, Simon Jones and Manager, John Dixon (Charlie) took away 3 minor award prizes and held off 6 other teams from across New Zealand to represent their company in the Final of the Competition. 3 teams competed in the Final Line Build, Siemens Energy Services from Albany, TENIX from Wanganui, and Northpower from Whangarei. All teams completed the build of 2 spans of 11,000 volt conductor and installed an ABS on the mid pole.

Siemens Energy services of Albany finally became the winner of the National Line Mechanic Competition, with Northpower of Whangarei and close runner-up. The Northpower team were presented with a Canon Digital Camera, Digital Photo Frame and Photographic Printer from TEX Onsite.
